Let’s make a DIY mash tun for All Grain Homebrewing!

You’ll need to get a 5/10 gallon cooler and a few pieces of hardware. Once you get those things it’s basically unscrewing the old pieces and screwing in the new pieces.

Hose Barb ½ inch to 3/8 inch – (Paid Link) – https://amzn.to/3leDKkw

Coupling 1/2 inch – (Paid Link) – https://amzn.to/38vJEtQ

Bazooka Filter – (Paid Link) – https://amzn.to/3ndEarX

Above you see 2 options. The first option allows you to get a kit that includes most of the hardware, the second lets you order each piece individually.

Step-by-step directions:

1. Take the cooler and remove the original spout hardware. You can save the o ring if it has one.

2. Attach the ball valve to the ½ inch close threaded nipple.

3. Place the ball valve piece with the threaded nipple through the cooler opening.

4. Put the o ring over the threaded nipple inside the cooler.

5. Screw on the lock nut if needed. (I did not need a lock nut because the coupling screwed on tight enough to create a liquid tight seal).

6. Finally attach the bazooka filter to the coupling.

That’s it!
