Homebrew Beer Equipment for Beginners

Here we will go over homebrew beer equipment and what you will need as a new homebrewer.

When you look at the basics of brewing you need 3 things.

  1. Brew Pot
  2. Fermentor
  3. Bottle/Keg

We won’t get into how to brew beer (Northern Brewer has a great blog here for beginners) but look at all the different equipment you might use.

First you will need to find a good place to store your homebrew equipment around the house when you’re not using it. It might seem obvious but more often than not your equipment will be sitting around, not in use.

For this I find totes are good for storage and I keep mine in the garage and crawl space when I am not brewing.

I will break the equipment down into 2 categories

  1. Basic Equipment
  2. Advanced Equipment

The basic equipment is what you will need for brewing and the advanced equipment will be considered optional.
