How much priming sugar for mini keg?

Not much, for a 1.3 gallon (5L) mini keg 12 grams (about 1.5 tablespoons) is enough priming sugar for mini keg.
I love these mini kegs for homebrew and have been experimenting with them for years.
Over the years I have found that you don’t need as much priming sugar as you would typically need for a 1.3 gallon batch.
I believe its due to the fact that all of the beer is in one single container.
Either way, I have tested using more or less sugar and 12 grams seems to be the sweet spot!
Here’s a video for more information:
Note: In my tests I have always used corn sugar. If you use a different priming sugar you should see an online calculator for a conversion.
Below I have converted 12 grams of corn sugar to other commonly used priming sugars. Keep in mind I have not used most of these but according to the online conversion calculator it should work.

Additional thoughts
I have heard hombrewers adding too much priming sugar for mini keg has warped or disfigured the mini kegs.
So far I haven’t heard of them exploding but i assume it is a possibility. For that reason I always test and use less sugar to start.
I’m not trying to scare you but after brewing for years I have not had an explosion however I have had under carbonated beer. In my opinion I would prefer a little less carbonation than a huge mess!
If you like this you might enjoy my Mini Keg Tap System with Ball Locks. This allows homebrewers to force carbonate their mini keg.
Thanks and happy brewing!
